How did you get your first 100 users without a big audience?

I launched TaskFlow AI last month with roughly zero followers. Product Hunt gave us a spike and then nothing.

What actually worked for you in the first 100? Communities, cold email, SEO, something weirder? Especially curious about B2C tools.

Honestly: answering questions in the subreddits where my users already hung out, for about six weeks, before ever linking the product. By the time I mentioned it people already knew my name.

Six weeks is longer than I'd have guessed. Did you track which threads converted?

      • HHana Sato·2 hours ago

Loosely. UTM links on my profile, nothing fancy. Two threads drove more than half of the first signups.

Cold DMs to people who publicly complained about the problem you solve. Search for "I hate" + your category. Low volume, very high reply rate.

Build in public helped me more than launch day. Weekly progress posts with real numbers, even when the numbers were embarrassing.
